Following the commissioning of
electrical projects at different Local Government Areas in Abia state, Governor Okezie
Ikpeazu has promised that every projects embarked upon in the state, in the
past 100 days would not be abandoned.
He made this known today 23, September
2015 at Awomukwu autonomous community in Ikwuano Local Government Area, where
he visited for electrical project commissioning.
Intermittently, he added that from
Ikwuano that he would go to Ngwa south for an electrical project. And that, a
similar project took place the previous day in Obretie Iberie and Isiala Abala, in Obingwa Ngwa Local Government Area.
The event however witnessed
personalities from different walks of life. People within the likes of: Hon Sam Onuigbo representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Commissioners In ASOPADEC are : Chief
Egnr Nnanna Kalu, Hon Peter Agwuwamba, Barr mike Okezie, Barr Henry Chilaka, and
Hon Uche Mpama . as well as individuals like: Hon Steve Mpamugo Commissioner in ASUBEB, Chief
Henry Ikoh, Chief Wisdom Ogbonnaya, Chief Clement Onukwue, Chief Emeka Usuwa, Chief Uche Nwachukwu and
others
Dr Ikpeazu expressed dissatisfaction over
the rumour that has permeated Abia on Ariam Usaka’s ring Road construction that
has been placed on halt, saying that any memorandum of understanding entered by
his predecessor would not be ignored.
In His Word: “I promise that every
road that is been worked on today would not be abandoned. Concerning Ariam
Usaka ring road, I have told the construction company to exercise patience
concerning a prior agreement he had with my predecessor. Actually, I did not
see sign that shows that, the road had once been touched. If I had seen trucks,
caterpillars and the likes on that road, of cause I would not have awarded it to
another company”.
In the same vein, Hon Sam Onuigbo representing
Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal constituency added that the Dr Ikpeazu is a working governor.
And that apparently people are not comfortable with the pace at which he is
handling projects, and as such they nurse fears. He stressed on how credible
the governor is, thus has influenced his attending the event
Also speaking, Chief Clement Onukwue Ikwuano Local Government Chairman(TC) lauded Dr Okezie over his nimble response in tackling road network, being that it will foster development in Ikwuano. And that Nkalatu road is in perilous stage, and would need urgent attention from the state to salvage it from it current state.
Continuing, he urged Dr Ikpeazu to help equip Ikwuano General hospital that was commissioned by the former administration with quality health care providers, who are of standards, in order for it to commence operation, and in turn mitigate the suffering of indigent people who cannot afford hospital bill
Concluding, Hon Steve Mpamugo, Commissioner ASOPADEC and a party stalwart appreciated the governor for breaking of lingering darkness in their community. He added that, every efforts exerted by Federal Government, NNDC and other agencies in bringing electricity to Awomukwu Community have been abortive.
