APC Should Stop Deceiving Nigerians If They Want to Succeed – Emir of Mubi



The Emir of Mubi, HRH Alhaji Isah Abubakar, has advised the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop deceiving the electorates if it wants to excel.

According to DailyPost, the Emir told the entourage of APC acting chairman in Adamawa, Ibrahim Bilal, who visited him as part of his tour of the 21 Local Governments in the state.

INEC Releases Dates for Ondo, Edo Governorship Elections




The Independent National Electoral Commission has released dates for the conduct of governorship elections in both Edo and Ondo States.

Jonathan Has Refused to Advice Me on How to Run Nigeria -Buhari




President-elect Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday said that President Goodluck Jonathan is yet to give him any useful tip on how to move the country forward.

Buhari made the complain while receiving a concise report on how to run Nigeria from Former President Olusegun Obasanjo.-Zubby

The president-elect who was represented by his spokesperson Garba Shehu said, ”Buhari regretted that the outgoing government that is supposed to give him tips on how to take off has done nothing so far”. He thanked Obasanjo for the report assuring him that the incoming administration will be needing advice as time goes on.

Edo 2016: Oshiomhole’s Choice of Aspirant Undemocratic — Osegbowa



Chief Facilitator, Citizens Efforts for Growth, CEG, Mr  Scott Osegbowa, yesterday, in Benin City, Edo State, accused the state governor, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, of undermining democratic tenets and internal democracy with his recent position on his choice of an aspirant becoming candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in this year’s governorship election in the state.

Osegbowa said, “This is undemocratic and one is forced to label the governor an anti-democrat.”

Buhari refuses to fund APC, urges party leaders to learn from PDP’s mistakes


President Muhammadu Buhari has nicely refused to make any commitment to bear the financial burden of running his party – the All Progressives Congress, APC, admonishing party leaders to remember how the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, leaders messed up themselves by dipping hands into public funds to run the party’s campaigns.

He then advised his party’s National Working Committee, NWC, who came to meet with him to go back and look inwards on how to mobilize funds internally through regular fees/donations from members.

PDP Urges Members To Return Money Collected From Dasuki



The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party has called on its members, who collected money from the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), to return it immediately.

The party said it didn’t ask any of its members to collect money on its behalf during the last general elections.

Taraba Tribunal Judgement: 5 Killed as APC & PDP Supporters Clash in Wukari


 

At least five persons have been killed in Wukari area of Taraba following the judgement passed by the state’s election petition tribunal on Saturday.
The tribunal had nullified the election of Governor Darius Ishaku and had declared Senator Aisha Alhassan as the winner of the state’s April 11th governorship election.

12,700 APC Members Defect To PDP In Kogi



The campaign train of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) hit Igalamela/Odolu and Ofu Local Government areas, at the weekend, with the governor and the candidate of the party in the November 21 governorship poll, Idris Wada, assuring the people of continued delivery of democracy dividends.
At Ofu Local Government Area, the home base of the candidate of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, Prince Abubakar Audu, 12,700 APC members officially defected to PDP from All Progressives Congress, APC.

Fayose, APC disagree on performance




Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have disagreed on his performance in office in the last one year.
Fayose is of the ground that his performance has been “satisfactory” but the APC described his showing in office as a “celebration of reversal of fortunes” for the people.
The governor, who spoke in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, insisted that he had done creditably well in office, despite the state’s financial challenges.
Fayose said: “I have said that I will leave no project uncompleted during my four–year term.  It is my duty to ensure that all Ekiti residents enjoy the dividends of democracy.
“Though, we have paucity of funds and within the little resources we have, I think I have satisfied my conscience and done creditably well”.

The 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has announced that the screening and confirmation process of the first batch of ministerial nominees by President Muhammadu Buhari to serve in his cabinet shall be streamed live on the National Assembly website. Www.nass.gov.ng and Www.Senate.gov.ng
Additionally, on Friday, the Senate through its official Twitter account @NGRSenate, has also announced that the general public would be able to send in questions they would like to ask nominees by forwarding same to their Senators using the hashtag: #MinisterialScreening. All questions must be received before 5pm on Monday.

Tinubu Under Surveillance- PMP Dispels




Apparently, it has been recently reported that the former Lagos state governor was put under surveillance over an alleged plot against President Muhammadu Buhari.
Premium Times reports that Garba Shehu, the president’s senior special assistant, issued a statement, to debunk the remours, describing it as false and baseless.
“The attention of the presidency has been drawn to a false and sensational story by a leading newspaper to the effect that a pillar of the governing party, the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is “under security watch over alleged plot against Buhari.”

APC youths against nomination of Lai Mohammed as minister




The youths in Kwara South under the auspice of Coalition Groups of All Progressives Congress, APC members on Friday in Ilorin protested‎ against the nomination of Alhaji Lai Mohammed as minister from the state, describing it as cheating amidst technocrats.
 According to Vanguard, Spokesman of the group‎, Prince Adetoyese Omokanye who led the protesters had earlier gone to Ajase-Ipo,the political headquarters of Kwara South to express their anger to the senatorial Chairman, Alhaji Jimoh Balogun who also brought them to the state secretariat in Ilorin.

Fashola, Amaechi, Ngige, Onu, Lai, Kachikwu Make Ministerial List


According to Thecable,  President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial list contains a number of familiar All Progressives Congress (APC) names such as Babatunde Fashola, former governor of Lagos state, and Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rivers state, TheCable reports.
Also nominated to be minister is Lai Mohammed, national publicity secretary of the ruling party, and Kayode Fayemi, who lost his Ekiti governorship re-election bid in 2014 to Ayodele Fayose of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
