Man docked for defiling a teen
A 45-year-old man, Samuel Ewemade, has been brought before an Egor Magistrate Court in Edo State, for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl.
Police Prosecutor, Sergeant Sunday Lucky, informed the court that the respondent had carnal knowledge of the teen on August 15.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to him.
The offenses are punishable Under Section 218 and 359 of the Criminal Code Cap. 48, Vol. Law the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria 1976 as applicable to Edo.
Presiding Magistrate, Mr F. E. Akhere, granted the accused bail in sum of N100, 000 with one surety that must be gainfully employed.
Akhere adjourned the case till September 29 for hearing.
