Breaking High Court Decides Kanu’s Bail Application

The Federal High Court in Abuja today, December 17, has ordered immediate and unconditional release of the Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, bail. Naijcom

Justice Adeniyi Ademola at the resumed trial on Monday, December 14, gave the date  after taking arguments from both parties engaged in the bail application.

Adeniyi Ademola ordered the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu. The court said that the continual detention of Radio Biafra director by the Department of States Services (DSS) was unlawful.

Kanu, who is also the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra has been in the DSS custody since October when he was arraigned by the DSS operatives in Lagos and moved to Abuja
Arguing, the counsel to the DSS, Mr. Moses Idakwo, objected to Kanu’s bail application and asked the court not to admit the suspect on bail because he was allegedly involved in terrorism acts.

A Magistrate Court sitting in Abuja on December 16 discharged the cases against Kanu. However, his lawyer Vuincent Obette said that Biafra leader is yet to be released from the custody.
