Two ladies accused of theft; stripped of their clothes in Abuja market

It was very shameful sight as a mob descended on two women at the Dutsen Alhaji Market, Bwari Area Council of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and stripped them naked for allegedly stealing N100,000 from a wine shop.

The women had gone into the shop on Wednesday, October 28, on the pretence of buying some items. While one of the women was negotiating wine price with the shop owner, her accomplice sneakily dipped her hand into the cash drawer and removed the money.

But luck ran out on them as she was quickly spotted by the shop owner who raised an alarm as they were about to leave the shop. The alarm attracted other traders in the market who rushed to the scene and on searching the lady, the money was found on her and the traders harshly reacted by str!pping them off their clothes and parading them around the market.

It took the arrival of the police to save the women from further humiliation as they provided them with clothes to cover their nakedness before whisking them away from the angry mob.
