X-Factor producer says the show could be cancelled
Although X-Factor remains popular with its audience, the ratings have begun to slip and slip - and it's not gone unnoticed.
Richard Holloway, one of the series producers, has said that the show could very well be cancelled, with a view to being it brought back at a later date. "Viewing habits have changed enormously, especially in the last couple of years... we all got to appreciate that and kind of consider it more," explained Holloway.
According to e Entertainment as ratings begin to decrease, the question is whether or not X-Factor can continue for a sustained period of time. For Holloway, he admits the series has a "finite lifespan" and that if the show is cancelled and then brought back, it could move on.
X-Factor has done everything in its power to avoid crossing over with Strictly Come Dancing's broadcasts, however more than once, the two have clashed - with Strictly winning out more than once.
Not only that, the loss of Louis Walsh from the judges' panel has been noted by audiences whilst others believe Nik Grimshaw is dragging ratings down.
What do you think? Should X-Factor be cancelled? Let us know in the comments!
