Buhari Withdraws Diplomatic Passports of Former-Governors, Ministers, others


The Federal government has directed former Nigerian public office holders to immediately summit official and diplomatic passports issued to them while in office. This is due to a directive from President Muhammadu Buhari
Those affected by the directive are erstwhile governors, erstwhile ministers, erstwhile senators,  former members of the House of Representatives, former members of state House of Assembly, former Commissioners, special advisers/ special  assistants former chairmen/deputy chairmen of local government areas,  all retired heads of parastatals and retired heads of parastatals and retired public servants. This is however according to a statement by the Comptroller-General of the Immigration service, Martin Abeshi, on Monday.

In His words:”the aforementioned category of persons are hereby informed that these passports which were previously held by them have been recalled revoke and should return them to Nigeria Immigration Service Headquarters Sauka Abuja with immediate effect. Carefree attitude shown to this directive will amount to an offence under the immigration Act 2015. Such unauthorized possession will be impounded at our control posts on arrival or departure”
