Gunmen abduct 3yrs-old baby at Delta





Unidentified gunmen in the wee hours of Wednesday morning abducted a 3years old son of an accountant at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, DELSUTH, Oghara in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State. Vangard
It was gathered that the gunmen numbering over 5, stormed the old Benin Road residence of the accountant identified as Peter Nwabueze, robbed him and his neighbours of cash and other valuable items before abducting his 3years old son.
Confirming the incident, a staff of the hospital who spoke on anonymity, stated that Peter Nwabueze is the head of the Revenue unit of the hospital while his wife, is a nurse at the Renal Unit.

The spate of kidnapping at Oghara which also plays host to the headquarters of the Nigerian Navy Logistics Command and the Western Delta University, has been on the increase thereby making staff of DELSUTH flee the community in their droves to reside in other adjourning communities where they come to work from.
Recounting his ordeal, a neighbour of the Nwabuezes who was also robbed during the incident, told Vanguard that the gunmen broke into their apartment through the wall after removing the barb wires on top the fence surrounding the compound.
As at press time it could not be confirmed if the abductors have made contact with the Nwabueze family for ransom
